Did you know this is the 40th year of the gift of the Rec Center to the Town of Washington? In June 1986, John and Jane Mosling met with Town Chairperson Arbutus Greenfeldt offering to construct the Rec Center for the Town. In September 1986, a resolution accepting the gift of the Rec Center was passed by a majority of electors at a Special Town Meeting. Since the Rec was built, over 500,000 people have used the building or attended classes and events at the Rec. What a gift to the people of Washington Island!
